We were very fortunate to finally have an “official” opening of our new buildings, which was performed by the Deputy Premier and Minister for Education, Hon James Merlino.  He was accompanied by Robin Scott, Member for Preston and Bronwyn Halfpenny, Member for Thomastown.

Robin and Bronwyn were an integral part of obtaining the funding for our rebuild and have been – and continue to be – wonderful advocates for our school. It was an occasion of celebration for the whole community, and our students excelled in so many ways.

They led a “meet and greet” for our invited guests, the School Captains provided the dignitaries with a guided tour of our new facilities, the Year 11 Captains led a whole school assembly, and our Music Department provided a wonderful backdrop to the event with a musical performance.

To name individual students is difficult, however we particularly acknowledge the work of Katerina Zafiris, Alex McCallion, Chris Inkston, Alexander Michalidis, Revival Siaosi, Sophie Bakirtzis and the SRC students for their excellence before and during this event.

The way the students conducted themselves on the day reflects their development as respectful young people and the pride in which they hold their school.

It was an extremely proud moment for our community.
